Valentino is an Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist, a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow and cognitive neuroscientist with a PhD in psychiatry from the University of Cambridge with specialization in adult ADHD. He also holds the European Certificate in Psychology, http://www.europsy-efpa.eu/. He is qualified in both experimental psychology and clinical psychology, awarded with the highest grade. For 6 years (till march 2014), Dr Pironti worked at the Adult ADHD Clinic, Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, where he specialized in the diagnosis and treatment management of adults with ADHD. After further training at the Cambridge Lifespan Asperger Syndrome Service (CLASS) clinic, Cambridge, he also specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of adult Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Valentino is also trained in using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd version (ADOS-2).
In 2009 Valentino was granted a fellowship from the Medical Research Council (MRC) to complete a PhD research program at the University of Cambridge, Department of Psychiatry. The research program that he devised and managed, entirely focused on adult ADHD. “Neurocognitive Endophenotypes in Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (NEA-ADHD)” has been adopted by the National Institute for Health Research and the Mental Health Research Network, who provide support for high quality clinical-research studies. His research on adult ADHD has led to the discovery of novel vulnerability markers for ADHD and to publications in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Biological Psychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry). He is a member of the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) and The European Network Adult ADHD. Moreover, Dr Pironti is an ad-hoc reviewer for articles on ADHD for Psychological Medicine, The International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology and Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica.
Dr Pironti also worked as research associate at the department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge (more here) and has led an R&D department of a global biotech company focused in devising and testing nutraceutical and micronutrient interventions for psychiatric disorders.
Antonio is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist working also in the NHS as a member of staff of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. He completed a MSc Neuroscience in Addiction Biology at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. He also trained in Psychiatry at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust and holds a Certificate of Completion of Training with a double endorsement in Addiction Psychiatry and in General Adult Psychiatry. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2009. He published numerous articles in international peer reviewed journals. At the Cambridge Adult ADHD Clinic, Dr Metastasio is responsible for all medical activities including devising the pharmacological interventions.
Massimo oversees the administrative and business activities of the Cambridge Adult ADHD Clinic. He is also a certified Coach with over 15 years of management experience in small to large enterprises working in various senior positions in marketing, business consultancy, sales and IT.
